Title: MC22 (Mac) client not finding MC22 (Win7) server [Solved]
Post by: shAf on May 18, 2017, 09:43:07 am
I've just upgraded my Win7 and Mac MC installations from v.21 to v.22, restored from the MC21 library backup, rebooted both computers, and the Mac client reports it cannot find the Win7 server. I've tried accessing the remote library via the access code and the URL:port.

I'm using the current versions as available from JRiver, and nothing has changed since everything was working fine with MC21. Am I missing something? Please advise...

TIA :)

There's no difference in how MC21 and MC22 work with respect to Media Network.

Try setting up the server again with a new Access Key by turning Media Network off and back on.

Make sure Media Network is set on the clients.

Firewalls or other security software?

The wiki has a topic called Network Access (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Network_Access).

Thank you Jim for a prompt reply...

I took your suggestions a bit further. MC21 is still installed so I made sure its server was similarly disabled, rebooted and then reconfigured the MC22 server.  Btw...it defaulted to the same access code.

I had forgotten I had added ESET internet security, which includes a firewall, so I added a "trusted" range of home IPs.

The Mac client now connects...
