HI.
I purchased Media Center and on at least 2 occaisions, the license just disappeared and I was told to via a dialog box that I need to burn another restore to get it back. Is there any way otehr than what I presume will be wasting a restore and what happens when the 10 restores are used if this behavior continues every few weeks?
Thank you,
Todd

Hi Todd,
How does the license just disappear? Something must be happening.
You are limited to 10 restores in a 1 year period.

I am honestly unaware of anything hapenning which could cause the license to disappear. The only possibility which might be related is that I downloaded and installed a patch to the version I originally installed, via the Check for Upgrade menu item. Other than that I cannot fathom what I might have done that could be related. I never manually edit the registry. I am the only one who uses the computer. The only administrator. I do run NOrton Systemworks, are there any known incompatibilites there? If not, I am at a total loss.
BTW, I KNOW that the license was installed because I displayed the license information on at least one occaision.
Thanks for your help,
Todd

Hi Todd,
I don't know of anything similar. If it's not too much trouble, each time you use MC do a quick check to make sure it is licensed. This may give us a clue.
How often has it happened?

It has happened 2 or three times. I noticed another thread reporting a similar incident. I'll do another restore today and will do as you request and periodically monitor the status of the license.
Thanks,
Todd

Yes, I just saw the other thread today, but its always hard to tell if it is a bug or something external causing it. Hopefully you can get some useful info.

I have checked every day and no problems yet. I'll post back if I run into any.
