I just bought Media Center without trying it for ipod and i am impressed!
Anyhow, I was wondering does Media Center support the file ratings in the Ipod?
Apparently, no program for the PC does this (unsure of Media Center)
If you could support this, that would be awesome. they use thew 1-5 star system you use.
Certianly Media Center is the killer Windows Ipod app.. this would only enhance it!

I wholeheartedly agree.
Unfortunately, at this time, this feature is mac-only; I don't believe that the firmware on a Windows-formatted iPod allows the ratings to be saved. This is expected behaviour; Apple has designed it to be this way.
I guess they're hoping you'll go out and buy a Mac, eh? ;)
Late this year, Apple is expected to release iTunes for Windows. When this happens, I expect that they'll enable all of the disabled features on PC iPods. If that happens, Mr. Grove is going to get a lot of emails from me.

As long as you're not looking to be able to rate songs via the iPod, you can sort of do this by creating smartlists (or reg playlists I guess) based on rating (and name the smartlists "5 Star", "4 Star", etc.), then rate the files in MC, then copy the smartlists to iPod.

I guess the question to Jim et al is:
When Apple "unlocks" Ipod ratings on the PC, do you anticipate being able to sync Media Center's ratings with Ipod's?
I dont want to rate thousands of Songs in Media Center only to have the ratings stay exclusively in media jukebox

If Apple enables the ability for us to get to/manipulate this information, we definitely would anticipate synching this information with the iPod.
