Hello everyone
I have several DVD-A discs that id like to rip in to 2 channel flac. I have successfully ripped a few discs but they rip into 5.1 channel audio. Im using anydvdhd and jriver. Does anyone know of a way to rip DVD-A discs into 2 channel flac not 5.1 using JRiver? Any help would be much appreciated

I wasn't aware that AnyDVD could rip a DVD-A disc. It's *probably* ripping the dolby digital 5.1 layer, which is lossy compressed and not as good as a standard CD. Certainly not high resolution audio like the DVD-A layer would be.
The only product I'm aware of that will rip a DVD-A is DVD Audio Extractor. It allows you to select which "mix" you want to rip. If your DVD-As have stereo mixes (which most do), you can select that mix. It rips the real high resolution audio and not the lossy DD compatibility layer.

Thankyou for your reply. The information you have given me is valuable as i believed that the combination of anydvdhd and jriver could rip most discs. I did use JRiver to extract the audio and convert the file to flac. I have found on the back cover of the DVD-A discs the stated resolution for either 2 channel or 5.1.The discs that i have copied..They have ripped at that stated resolution but at 5.1 audio and not 2 channel.

I second the recommendation for DVD Audio Extractor. I've used it multiple times in the past, and it just works out perfectly every time.

Thank you. I will seriously look into DVD Audio Extractor. I have another question. Can the DVD Audio Extractor copy full blu ray and dvd discs too or does this program rip the audio from discs only? Thanks

As the name implies, it extracts the audio (in lossless or lossy formats, your choice) from DVD-A, DVD-V and Blu-Ray discs. Ripping full discs (e.g. to ISO) would require other software + likely AnyDVD.
