Title: Software decode of True-HD & DTS-HD
Post by: michael123 on June 22, 2017, 02:05:30 am
Hello

I am a bit late to learn that JRiver can decode HD audio formats (yes??)
I have already multi-channel Dirac suite installed, which I use for stereo audio only reproduction
My nasty Onkyo pre/pro has Audyssey XT32, which quite deteriorates music quality.
I was thinking to replace it, but finding a processor capable of running Dirac at full 192/24 power is quite impossible today..

Is it possible to configure JRiver to send Multi-channel high-rez LPCM (not downsampled) to audio device?
I stream files, these are either blu-ray rips/TS or MKV files from NAS

Thats what MC does by default, it decodes the audio and sends the audio to the DAC without any downsampling. Only if you tell it to downsample, it'll do that.

Thanks!

Is there any special configuration in JRiver to disable bitstream?

Another question - my setup is simple, 5.0 - without sub.
Which part of JRiver is responsible for downmixing 7.1/5.1 into 5.0 -?

Dirac will then do the room correct and send everything LPCM to pre/pro

Output Format controls how MC mixes. Bitstreaming is disabled by default. There is an option for it in the Audio->Settings section of config.
