Hello

Just upgraded to MC22.

When watching movie, the task bar (annoying) still appears in the bottom

Is the window full screen?

In options, you can set behavior.

It's under General.

Definitely, killing and restarting explorer.exe from the task manager helps

I used to have this problem using madVR (MC with RO+HQ). There is a setting in madVR to display the madVR icon on the taskbar. Turning that off (unchecking the "display icon" setting) fixed the problem for me.

Actually, I bet the process is still running. After killing/restarting explorer.exe some system tray icons don't repopulate - it's a well known Windows issue. Just because the icon may be gone, doesn't mean the process (likely madHcCtrl.exe) isn't still running. ;)

CountryBumkin has the right idea, just right click the madHcCtrl.exe icon in the system tray, go to Edit Tray Icon Settings... and set it to don't show tray icon. That should solve it. :)
