Hi.
Just a quick question. Why is my spectrum analyzer on steroids ? ? ? It is WAY too fast. It was smooth and useful.
Any suggestion why this is happening ? I presume i'm not alone on this.
Thank you
-
Actually, I have just the opposite happening. It was slow and jerky before at about 15fps and now it's smooth as silk, running over 60fps. I thought it was because of an update to my AntiVirus program because the only way I could get it to smooth out was to pause the A/V program.
-
It's way too fast for me also, has been for some time:
-
it is smooth here, just very very fast and that makes it kinda useless :'(
Any way to fix it ?
-
What file type are you playing? Anything unusual?

No offense, but how is that useless? It makes it very fluid looking IMO, that is if you're exeriencing what I'm experiencing, and I've had the same results (before/after) on two seperate machines. And honestly, I don't think it's MC has anything to do with what I'm experiencing. I have a laptop with Windows 10 64bit, latest build, and it has MC 22 and MC 23 on it, and I'm experiencing 67.3fps in both regardless of what visualization I use.

This is what I'm talking about.

On the left (v20)I can correlate the music with the spectrum.
On the right (v23) it is way to fast.

I think it's from this change:
22.0.24 (9/2/2016)
4. Changed: Made the analyzer frequency information fall off faster.
I'm not sure why the change was put in though. At one point we were playing around with using more analyzer frequency bands, but it really hurt the performance so we took it out. It's possible that was a carry over from when we still had more bands?
I'll try putting it back in a future build.

it came from this one - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,106835.msg742638.html#msg742638
the initial change to provide better low frequency resolution (which IIRC came as a result of testing the change to allow larger S values for the shelf filter) led to the analyser going *extremely* slowly hence the fix above

Can you please put a option to make it slower? It is difficult to visualize the music on the spectrum has it is.

OK, I see what you're talking about. I was under the impression that you were talking about spectrum anylyzers in Visualizations. That's why I like it running over 60fps, it's smoother and more fluid because I use Visualizations a lot.
-
Same here. I loved the behavior of the older Analyzer. V21 all okay, from V22 and above it is to fast.

Agree, looks like the same thing I have experienced.

Please try the build that we just published. Hopefully it's all back to normal now :)
-
Yes. Perfectly.
Thank you

23.022 addresses the issue and it's fixed!!!!!! Thank You

Is there any way to fix this issue in the V22?
