Title: Feature Request DSD Output format
Post by: mlundy57 on June 30, 2017, 11:02:50 pm
Currently using MC21.

I would like to have the ability to output DSD files above DSD64 (DSD128/256) to DSD64 instead of having to output them as PCM. Only one of my DACs can handle DSD128 and 256. The others max out at DSD64. As it is now, even though those DACs can handle DSD64, I have to output my DSD128 and 256 files as PCM.

I once made a suggestion on changing the DSP studio in order to be more flexible from a user point of view. This involved your use case: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,90247.msg619780.html#msg619780
Maybe something like this can be reconsidered sometime.

You should know that, while MC can convert output to DSD, this always goes through a PCM stage in the middle.  MC is not capable of doing a pure DSD to DSD conversion.  So, the benefits of down sampling your DSD128 to DSD64 might not really be there, since it's going through PCM anyway.

Just some information for you.
