Title: Do you use the JTV TV recording file format?
Post by: RoderickGI on July 23, 2017, 12:24:45 am
Did you know you can record a whole program from the beginning, even if it is half way through and you haven't hit record?

Did you know that you can easily convert the proprietary JRiver JTV format to the standard, editable TS format?

Did you answer with Option 3 above?

Then take a read of this thread: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,105793.0.html

Or just skim it, then read the good bits here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,105793.msg736129.html#msg736129

Okay, that thread won't answer all questions. But there has been much discussion about the JTV format previously, so use the trusty Search function in the forum, and see what you can learn.

I use the jtv format so I can record a program of I want after its started. Now, if only Linux and Mac could play them 😊

I dont use jtv.

I record in .ts so that my media player in my lounge (Mede8er) can access the folder containing my recordings via wired network and play them. My JRiver based system is in another room. It works perfectly.

I dont think I would want to add in any conversion process to achieve that. There is always SWMBO to be considered..... ;D

Been told comskip won't process jtv, so TS recording is a must.
