I have a cd drive on one machine. It is shared as Z:. When I connect to the remote machine where MC23 is running I can map the drive, to the local Z: and view the data in an explorer.
MC23, however, never sees the disk. Is there a way to convince MC that it is valid?

If you are trying to use the CD drive on the remote system to RIP discs then you will not be able to using the mapped drive feature.
You could mount the optical drive as an iSCSI target if you have an iSCSI target software (a few are free if you Google it). These should show up as real devices.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the response. My solution is to run the MC software that is on the server on my machine which has a CD drive. This seems to work perfectly.
