I have intentionally ripped and stored my video files in separate output formats. (1)Blu-ray rips : .m2ts These videos are 1920x1080, 24 FPS and aspect ratio 2.35:1 (2) HDTV rips: .ts : these videos are 1920x1080, 24 FPS with aspect ratio 16:9
Now my requirement is to play the above files in the following settings:
(1) For .m2ts videos i need a playback profile setting where i crop the black borders in video which is originally 2.35:1and extend it to full screen(1920x1080) resolution with aspect ratio 16:9. i know it will distort the videos but i want it full screen with NO black borders.
(2) For .ts videos, i want to play them in their native form in full screen.
How to setup JRiver to import these two file types in separate distinct libraries and automatically select the playback profile settings based on the file format type.
Please advise me with a detailed explanation as I want to setup JRiver Media Center as one stop solution for all my files.

using anamorphic lens with projector?
library part is easy ... go to library tools (file->library->library manager...)
there can create second library ... and for each library configure auto-import
second part ... no idea ... though i saw some setting for MadVR for this
tools ->options...->Video->... open MadVR Settings(Advanced)
think saw somewhere there options to crop ... then can agjust scale (never tried this myself)
gonna be not easy ... as not all movies come in 2.35:1 ... some come in 2.40:1 for example

Don't create separate Libraries for a simple thing like this. In fact, there is almost no good reason to ever create separate libraries with Media Center. Don't do it. Put everything in one library. MC can handle it all, with tags, views, etc.
For your viewing pleasure, simply set MadVR correctly. Actually, have you imported and tried playing these files yet? Do that first, and see if MC does exactly what you want by default.
If not, go into Options > Video > General Video Settings > Open madVR Settings (Advanced)... > Processing > zoom control
Tick "automatically detect hard coded black bars"
Play the videos and see if MC now does what you want. For me that is enough, along with "keep bars visible if they contain subtitles". If not, play with the settings found in "zoom control" to get what you want.
Oh, in case you didn't get the message the first time, do not create separate libraries for JRiver Media Center. If you need to do something that you think requires separate libraries, come to the forum and ask first. It will save you a lot of pain and work.

Hi Rodericks
The option which you suggested has NEVER worked for me. I know as well as DO adjust cropping and zoom settings to remove black borders. The problem is the varying size of black borders forced me to crop beforehand all videos of HDTV rips and resized them to 1920x1080 while recording itself as i had to adjust zoom for different size of black borders for older movies shown on HDTV. Now my list consists of (1) .m2ts for which i need to crop and and upscale using MADVR (2) .ts files for which i don't need to crop and upscale. So the whole thing boils down to 2 separate options for two types of files. Please DO NOTE that i KNOW how to zoom and crop away the black borders as I have been using JRiver since Version 21. So my REQUIREMENT is how to tag the two types of files with the two profile settings ? Is there a way to create a profile and save it and associate it with a file type in library so that JRiver and MadVr automatically apply the appropriate zoom.

Wouldn't Zone Switch handle this auto-magically? One zone for cropped video, another for non-cropped. Switch rule using the file type.
Brian.

Hi Guys, I did'nt quite get it. let me be more explicit.
(1) For .m2ts video songs which are ripped from blu-rays and are 1920x1080 with actual image of 816 pixels height and the rest 132 pixels black border above and below. To remove black border I do some settings in Video Aspect ratio Correction and some settings in zoom control where i make the video touch from outside. Now can i store this settings in a profile and tag all .m2ts videos with it.
(2) .ts videos do not have black borders so that have to be played with a normal different profile. which has to be tagged with .ts files(IF at all possible)
Now the mportant question for which i have still not received the answer: Is it possible to create separate setttings profile and associate them with file types like.ts and .m2ts ?

Brian.
Can you be more specific as to how zone settings are associated with file types.
