Title: Smartlist play albums oddity.

I have the complete Elvis Presley boxset on two drives on my PC. I have a smartlist pointing to just one of those locations. When I right click on that smartlist in the tree and choose either "Play Albums" option MC adds the secondary location to playing now in addition to the location the smartlist points to.

I suppose I could just delete the second location from MC's library. It's just that this behavior seems unexpected to me so I'm left wondering if this is a bug or not.

Maybe they were imported by mistake.

Or they are included in Stacks?

The play albums tools expand to full albums.  Just use "Play" to play just what you're looking at.
