Title: how to get EAC and Monkey's Audio to work together
Post by: nickharambee on July 01, 2003, 03:49:10 am
i am trying to get EAC to work with MAC.  Can someone tell what the correct settings are (I also want MC to be able to read the tags when importing).  At the moment EAC is extracting files ok, but MAC is coming up with an error message 'run time error 52 - bad file name or number'.  can anyone help? thanks, nick. ? ?

Run the "Wizard" but know where the encoder is. You'll need to select "external encoder" and "Browse" to the correct directory. I couldn't find it in the Media Center directory so I had to get it from Matt's web site.

EAC already comes setup to use Monkey's Audio.

Go to Compression Options (F11). Make sure that Add ID3 is unchecked on the External Compression tab and then uncheck Use External Program For Compression. Also make sure all the boxes are unchecked on the ID3 Tag tab. On the Waveform tab, choose Monkey's Audio from the Wave Format drop-down list. EAC should automatically add the APE tags.

I have never actually had the option to select the ID3 tags, it appears to be greyed out.  And it appears to tag the files with APE v2 tags. AFAIK.
