Title: Problem playing back stereo SACD ISO
Post by: dubby on August 27, 2017, 05:10:37 am
Sometimes I can't playing back stereo SACD ISO, through my Light Harmonic Geek Pulse Xfi DAC, with the message "something went wrong with playback - details: the media type "video" is not supported"  -so I think that JRiver thinks the ISO file is a video file. My output encoding is 1XDSD in native format with ASIO driver.
Any solution ?

Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't need to set any output encoding for this.

In addition by using output encoding for it, you're likely converting the SACD/DSD to PCM first, then back to DSD on-the-fly (since all DSD conversions in MC go through a PCM conversion first as there's no DSD to DSD conversion).

Have you tried enabling DSD bitstreaming?

Check that the Media Type is "Audio" and that the file type is "sacd" in the tags.
It doesn't sound like these have imported correctly.
