Title: DLNA streaming to Sotm SMS-200
Post by: wildsam on August 31, 2017, 12:47:39 am
I have jriver 23 running a dlna share to a sotm SMS 200 and I was wondering if it's possible to disable volume control in the dlna share settings?
Also when I add an album to play it normally skips the first track for some reason.
Anyone else had these problems or know how I could fix them?

Wildsam,

With regards "skips the first rack",do you have shuffle turned on for all playing?

Best Regards,

1) Concerning the volume controls: Its not obvious why you ask this question, but simply if you don't press any of MC's volume up/down/mute buttons, then MC obviously won't forward those commands to the renderer.. (??)

3) Concerning the skip: In MC playing now, right click on the renderer, and in the DLNA sub-menu, remove the checkbox against "SetNext support" (i.e. disable SetNext..)

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply, I will check the dlna sub menu settings and disable setnext.
Regarding the volume control, I would prefer to not have volume control enabled for the dlna share.
I have volume control disabled in MC but when I select sotm renderer from the play to menu on the ipad the volume control is enabled.
I will have another play around this arvo.
Hope that makes sense...

When MC is pushing to a DLNA renderer it always pushes the media data at maximum volume. Any volume adjustment is done by the renderer. When you press volume commands in MC, it just sends an instruction to the renderer to adjust the volume, and it does NOT change the media stream contents. So it is the same as turning the volume on the renderer directly.
