Hi. On the latest version of Media Center, but the prior versions did the same also - When closing MC a MadVR crash error pops up most of the time. Sometimes this causes some unusual behavior with the computer such as not being able to left click items in the start menu. Any suggestions? It did this with the stable build of MadVR that MC installs automatically and also with the latest version of MadVR.
Another issue is MC will ask me to restore the license every now and then (like every week) as if I never registered the program. Now I'm down to 7 restores left and I've only had the program for less than a month. Is entering the registration code different from double clicking that install key included in the restore email?
Thanks

Have you modified the default settings for madVR?
-
Yah, I've changed some things such as:
Devices
Display attached to receiver - HDR - let madvr decide
Processing
artifact removal - reduce banding artifacts checked, and reduce ringing artifacts checked
image enhancements - adaptivesharpen checked, activate anti bloating filter and ringing filter checked
scaling algorithms
chroma upscaling - processing done by custom pixel shader code: super-xbr checked
image upscaling - doubling: NNed13, 64 neurons for luma doubling, 16 neurons for luma quadrupling, let madvr decide for chroma. activate doubling only if scaling factor 1.5x or bigger, and quadrupling only if scaling factor is 3.0x or bigger
upscaling refinement - adaptivesharpen at 0.5. activate anti-ringing filter checked
rendering
general settings -use direct3d 11 for presentation checked, use a separate device for presentation checked, use a separate device for dxva processing checked, increased cpu queue to 16, gpu queue to 8
smooth motion - enable smooth motion frame rate conversion only if there would be motion judder without it checked
dithering - error diffusion option 1 checked
That's all I can remember I changed.

We don't support changes to madVR. There is a madVR thread on the doom9 forum.

ok thanks

There's a file named "restore default settings.bat" that can be found in "C:\Users\<Your Used ID>\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 23\Plugins\madvr" that you can run to ... restore default settings. :)
-
Thank you. I'll try running it in default settings and see if any crashes tonight
-
Hi, so I restored madVR settings to default. It still gives me that crash error when I close a movie. Any ideas?
-
Reinstall MC and don't modify madVR.
-
I reinstalled. Only change I made was video - red October HQ. Same "An error occurred with madVR"
-
That may be a problem with madVR, not with MC. Please try doom9.

I'll try there
