Title: only audio, which JRiver version?
Post by: audiolover on September 12, 2017, 07:55:39 am
Currently I am still at version 20 of Mediacenter which I bought. What is the advantage of me moving to the latest/newest version if I only use it to play bitperfect audio?
Is there still the possibility to upgrade for a special price?

The newer versions of Media Center past 20 have a few new audio features like the SoX resampler and if desired the two memory playback options if desired along with thread priorities support in Media Center 23. In addition to other bug fixes. ;)

The main benefit that comes to mind with updating is, at some point in the future since older Media Center versions' development has ceased, issues *may* and most likely will arise when trying to use Media Center with newer Linux operating systems. This could be due to newer/changed libs for example, which means there won't be any updates to fix any of the issues that may occur.

And a special upgrade price, other than the Master, is available?

I don't believe so if you're still using v20. The upgrade prices apply from one version to the next.

You can get the discounted price when you upgrade from MC20 to MC23.

I see that for Mac and Windows but not for Linux?
