I'm trying to find the DirectX host in v9.1. Can someone please tell me how to find and use it?

It's in the DSP Studio.
Player -> Player Options -> DSP Studio...

Thanks, Doof. I'm looking in DSP Studio and see a number of options - Izotope (a Winamp2 filter), Equalizer, Effects, Replay Gain, Output Format, but nothing that says DirectX.
Where should I be looking?

It appears that the Direct X Host is no longer being installed with MC. It is only available if you already had it there... Any clarification on this Matt? Is it going to come back?

It caused a bunch of problems on lots of computers. Look for it to return once things slow down.
