Media Center doesn't recognize this.
What should I do?

Contact iRiver and tell them to contact us. In order to connect to this player, we need some information from them. I emailed them in February requesting this information and received no reply. I sent another email today. Perhaps if some customers like yourself apply some pressure on them, they will respond.
Feel free to have them contact me.

You can upgrade to the newest firmware for the iFP-390T and Media Center will see it as another hard drive... you could then copy music files to it like you would any other harddisk.

I just updates my ifp-180t to the latest firmware, but windows still doesn't seem to see it.... any ideas???

Jim,
If Windows doesn't see it, neither will we. I don't have the player so I can't really suggest anything. Hopefully Nate can chime in.

I have the iFP-390T and have upgraded it to the 1.0c firmware (UMS version, not the Manager version 1.05) and MC is pretty happy with it. I can transfer files to it just like a harddrive

That's right... it's the UMS version of the firmware that allows the iFP to show up as a harddrive when plugged in to the USB port.... I guess I should have mentioned that in my previous post.
Here is the direct link for the US version:
