Title: mediacenter23 loses license on my Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
Post by: percy on September 26, 2017, 09:26:04 am
This is the second time in 14 days that Mediacenter 23.0.54 loses its license without any apparent reason.
Is there a reason why Mediacenter loses its license without modifying anything (No updates no change in settings neither on the OS nor in Mediacenter itself)whatsoever!
I am a bit worried that if this continues I may exhaust my license restore count. Likely this time the problem occurred just within the two weeks validity so I did not have to download a new license file

Don't worry about exhausting restores, just post if you're out of restores and one of the JRiver team will reset the count for you.

The fact it's not keeping the registration is a bit worrisome though. That LTS version of Ubuntu, as far as I know, is running an older version of NetworkManager. Not sure if the older version there has issues with the needed changes to get it working with the newer versions of NetworkManager and its MAC randomization thing.

I assume you use WiFi, correct?

I had to restore my license as well under 16.04 LTS.  I'm running MC on a laptop which switches between wireless and wired connections.

No, my system has no WiFi. I use a fixed IP. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H with a core i3 6300 8GB Ram 256 SSD for the OS and 2 WD red 3TB for the music. There is also a Asus Xonar Essence ST. The system is used for JRiver only it has no Monitor and is only accessed via Teamviewer or SSH.
JRiver is used with JRemote on an iPad.
I use a Master License as I also use the same software (in Windows version) on my Windows 10  work system (in which a copy of that music library resides on an 8TB WD Red).

I have had the same problem on my ARM based Raspberry Pi 3 and ODROID XU4 . License was lost. Had to restore it.
This was after less than a month after original license purchase.

I am now having the same issue after every reboot. Since I am using MC as DLNA server this is pointless.
Any solution on that?

thx
