Title: DLNA for streaming sound, while playing a video over HDMI?
Post by: nuhi on September 30, 2017, 11:19:26 am
Hi,

is it possible to use DLNA for lossless audio streaming to something like SoTM SMS-200 Ultra network streamer, while playing a video over HDMI?
Latency could be compensated within the display options?

edit: I don't mean multi-zone, but playing a single movie, just audio over DLNA.

Thanks.

If this can work, you can be certain that audio/video sync will be off and will be variable.  I.E., you can't compensate for it and have it "stick".  The time delay to start a DLNA stream is unknown and variable.

Stick with HDMI and everything should be easier.
