Title: Mj info into file tags
Post by: greggd3 on June 28, 2003, 04:29:22 am
I was wondering if there is a way to get the info that you enter in MJ9 to be reflected in the mp3 file.

In other words if I do some work and add a bunch of songs to an album and then save the cover art, can that be saved into the file?  I want to do this because it seems I am forever re-doing the task of giving things the write album name and cover art.  I am not sure why it happens, but it's annoying.

thanks.

yes

If you have MC9.180 and below there is a check box on the Image in properties (store image in file)

above that there is not one but i think there is a registry key you can change from "0" to "1" and it will save to the media file if the media file supports this.

i forget what the key was.

In the actual version change the option with a right click on a track or anywhere in the properties pane, then "Cover Art" and "Store Cover Art Inside Files".

Another Hidden New Option.

I don't store cover art in the files and I never have a problem with 24,000+ external cover art tagged files.

even if i reimport all of them it works fine.

maybe i'm just blessed

once you tag a file and you rename it you may have problems, since the artist name and album name may not be the same if not then it may not find the cover art.

Yes its weird, I have always had the store cover art with the files box checked.  I think that was also the case witht he ols version too.

Besides the cover art, when you make changes in MJ9 do those changes get reflected into the file properties?

In case you change a drive or directory or something  I guess what I'm getting at is I want to be able to move the files around, then just do an import and have everything the same as it was.
