I have MC installed on my main PC and I also have a licence for my laptop. I keep all my media files on a separate hard drive lets call it my A drive.
I have copied all my media files from drive A to another portable hard drive, drive B, which I connect to my laptop.
Which files from MC do I need to copy so that I have all my playlists accessible on my laptop and reading the media files from drive B.
I don’t want to have export and import each playlist separately. There must be a file that MC references to get all this information from.
Hope that makes sense.
Many thanks for your help in advance.

You need a library backup - that's it!
However the playlists will be saved with the old file path so you may need to change that. The good news is this can be done in one shot, look up the Rename, Move, Copy tool

So I assume that I do I library back up and then do a backup restore on the laptop?
And then after that do a rename to ensure that all the file paths point to the correct drive.
-
Probably.
The wiki has a topic called Moving Files.

thanks for your help Jim,
can you point me to the wiki please?
