Hi, sox is a great tool used in jriver to upsample pcm file. Is it possible to implement sox into dsd upsampling? In Daphile works very well and and I would try it in jriver.
Thank you

If you enable DSD encoding, it will be upsampled via SoX in the PCM stage.
You can't resample DSD without converting to PCM first. I'd recommend keeping it as PCM at that point though.

Sox has a PCM to DSD converter. I do not believe JRiver has implemented that feature. It has its own PCM to DSD converter.
I think the poster is asking about the possibility of implementing the Sox PCM to DSD converter. That was brought up when Sox was first implemented in MC and, as I remember, there was not much interest in doing so.
I believe Dalphile uses the Sox PCM to DSD converter.

Its a common misconception about SoX - we don't actually use SoX. We use SoXR, the SoX Resampler. Its a stand-alone library that was basically spun-off from SoX itself, but it only does PCM resampling, and nothing else.
None of the other SoX features are available, and we don't plan to integrate the full SoX.

Thank you for the answer. In pcm to dsd conversion, do you think that now jriver works better without using the sox library?
