Title: (Resolved)Problems Ripping with MC9 or 9.1
Post by: LonWar on June 24, 2003, 05:02:43 pm
I tried to rip a couple of cd's with the 9.1xxx version and it took quite a long time to finish initiating. So I downloaded and installed 9.0, figuring that it would be faster..... It is the same speed.

Is this a problem with MC9 in general?? I can rip cd's in the same quality with WM9 or MMJB in less time??

Is anybody else having the same problems?

I just started using MC (v9.1.XXX) to rip my music...

Ripped 20 CDs without any problems.  MMJB is faster at ripping but I think I will use MC from now on. By using MC I don't have to import and tag the missing info.

I am sorry for bumping this again, but I need help on this,

I am not trying to be a pain but when I try and rip a cd:

it takes about 2 - 3 min to gather the information.
Another 2-3 min to initialize the cd
That's about 5 min to start the rip
When it starts to rip it works great....

How long should it take to start ripping??

I'm afraid I cannot tell you what your problem is.... But I'm ripping right now, and the Initialize only takes 5 - 10 seconds, then it starts ripping right away...
The whole CD takes me about 15 - 20 mins (that includes conversion to MP3 - VBR).
I'm using MC 9.1.199.

Steef.

Try other CDs and also try disabling online CD lookup. (in Options->Device Settings)

Let us know if either of those make a difference.

Thanks!

I disabled online cd lookup, No good.....

It still takes about 4 or 5 min to start the ripping procedure.

I have disabled all of the error correcting and set the encoding to fast... I have also disabled all Norton utilities and my Software for my tv tuner.

Anyone have anyother ideas?? I really want to get this thing to work.........

I'm not an expert but it might help if you gave us you systems specs...

Also the encoder u r using & the CD/DVD drive info

Have U tried ripping with another encoder?

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall MC or the encoder u r using? (Guess u did if u used both 9.0 and 9.1...so ignore this ;D)

I have all of my drivers and patches upto date.
I have also tried with several other rippers:
Windows WM9

I believe that this is a configeration issue. I just tried this on my work computer and it rips oh so VERY nice.

I have also tried runnig this with Norton and the PVR software disabled.
I am officially stuck..... Any config people out there?

**Jumping up and down**

I can know buy this software!!!!

What the problem ended up being, I have Pinnacle instant CD/DVD. One of the components in it is a virtual drive called INSTANT DRIVE.

Once I figured that out, this program runs GREAT.
Well, I guess it's time to register.

Remember if you are thinking of getting Instant CD/DVD creator do not use the instant drive.... It doesnot work with MJ...

Try disabling Roxio Go-Back, see if that helps.
