Title: JRiver not treating Czech ř like r for searches
Post by: adaminsf on October 25, 2017, 02:27:11 pm
Hello,

Running JRiver 23.0.73 on Windows 10, and searching for, eg "Dvorak" returns no tracks that have the composer correctly spelled as "Dvořák" and vice-versa.  Other diacriticals including the á in his name, are happily ignored for the purposes of searching.

This goes both ways, as searching for "Dvorak" in my library produces 176 matches, while searching for "Dvořak" produces 60, and just "Dvo" returns ~200 (including a few unrelated).

Can this be fixed?  It is actually pretty annoying as I have a lot of Czech music, and cannot type the ř character on my US keyboard!

Rgds,
     Adam

Good find.

Coming next build:
Fixed: Searches with the ř letter didn't resolve to the non accent version properly.

Awesome - thank you very much!

May be worth a quick scan of the other Czech accents, as there are a few more (eg. ď, ě, ť, ů) that are at best uncommon in other languages, although AFAIK ř is the only one unique to it, which is no doubt why it was missing.
