Title: 21 VS 23
Post by: georgios on October 25, 2017, 06:34:09 pm
Hi guys,

I’m using MC 21 and wondering if there’s any soundwise improvement from 23. Currently I’m upsampling everything to 24/192. So if that algorithm is better, then upgrade is needed.

We added the Sox resampling algorithm which should be pretty premium.  You turn it on in options if you're running the latest.

The 64bit version (albeit still 'an early release') adds some performance benefits (it's the same code as the 32bit version so no actual audio benefits) but do read the release notes to be fully aware of its current limitations. You can always use the 30day trial to try it out. . .

As Matt said, the SoX resampler is one of the sound-related additions since MC21. So is the TPDF dithering along with the memory playback options.
