Title: OUTPUT FORMAT
Post by: music first on October 30, 2017, 09:43:06 am
Hi Folks-
When I first started with JRiver about a year, I got help with making sure JRiver was outputting audio in WAV format.  I noticed this morning that is is now outputting in MP3 which I don't want.  I'm not sure how this change occurred. But I would like to set it back to WAV.  I went to Options - Media Network and add dlna servers.  my choices are :
PCM L16 no header
PCM L24 no header
PCM 16 bit
PCM 24 bit
and then there are some MP3 choices.  Can someone tell me if I am in the wrong place?  Where did the choice of WAV go?
Thanks in advance!

Edit the current server that you use.

Edit the current server?  Can you elaborate just a bit?

Normal wave is 16 bit PCM
24 bit wave is 24 bit PCM.

The L16 and L24 formats are different in that they don't include headers.
L16 is REQUIRED to be supported by all DLNA compliant devices.

In your case I'd try PCM 16 bit first and if it doesn't work, then L16.

Ok, thanks Bob.  It just threw me off because I thought at one point "WAV" was actually a choice, but I don't see that anymore.  So you are saying 16 bit is essentially WAV output?

Yes, 16 bit PCM == WAVE
