Hi
I have MC23 running on my Windows 10 machine and stream the music wirelessly from my PC to my Bose SoundTouch20 wireless speaker. All good so far...
...however the Soundtouch20 only supports 16bit FLAC and some of my music is 24bit FLAC. Without doing a permanent physical conversion on each file, are there any output encoding options in MC23 I could select which will do 'on-the-fly' conversion from 24bit to 16bit when streaming but will not do a permanent conversion on the files?
Thanks for any help/advice

I think this is a networked (DLNA) device, so you would configure it in the server options.
Options > Media Network > Add or configure servers.
Pick a supported 16-bit format and set it to only convert when necessary.

Thanks RD...I'll try that and get back to you. I assume the conversion is only temporary to play the file and isn't permanent?
Thanks

Yes, only temporary.

Hi RD...tried all the conversion settings and the only one that worked was PCM 16bit which I'm more than happy with.
Thanks again

L16 is in fact the only “must support” lossless format defined by the standards. So all renderers really must support it properly. (i.e. everything else is “optional”..)

Hi Andrew
....tell that to Bose...they don't even implement DLNA properly in their "premium" range of wireless speakers. Playlists have to be manually advanced one song at a time and FLAC support was only introduced withing the last 18 months or so...
