Hi there
I have to rebuild my HTPC and want to dual task it to be used as a lounge room HTPC and an Ableton Live DAW that I will operate with a RF keyboard and Ableton's Push (I'm new to daws so dont know what I do that know yet!).
Do DAW aficionados think this dual set up in this way makes sense?
I need mkv and ISO playback including 3D playback and 4k upscaling capability as I plan to get a large flat 4k TV. I want to use a SSD for the OS and software but will look to keep my media on the network. I'll want my audio on a SSD in the case (1TB).
Audio is important so I want it quiet.
Do the gurus here have some general guidance to get me started please? I built my last PC 8 years ago, and don't keep up with the advances in components.
I need to build from the case up.
THANKS ALL!

Any views on this?
Thanks

Are you planning on running these at the same time?
Also is the DAW a casual use thing? Like one or two mics at a time?

Thanks
I expect the apps would run at separate times.
The DAW would not be used for post production so no mics.
Cheers

I have one with M2 drive for the OS and a 2TB SSD internally mounted. No fan, silent, and always on. Highly recommended.
