I just installed MC23 stable (upgrading from MC22) on 16.04 Ubuntu and it keeps crashing after a few minutes of opening. The first few times a message was displayed that insufficient memory was available to send a report, now it just crashes with no message. I had configured it to auto-import a large amount of files in two volumes on a single HD. It crashed after importing some 2500+ files and now crashes within a few minutes of opening.

Did you try turning off auto import?
-
I see no option to "turn off" auto import. By that do you mean remove all the folders from the list?
-
That should work.
-
Yes, thanks, it seems it did. It took multiple tries to disable all the folders before MC23 crashed. I had to stop them one at a time. Things stabilized when I got down to one folder. Why would I have had a problem in the first place? Should auto-update be limited to one folder?
-
No, it should work. I don't know.
What kind of files? Where are they located?
-
I had a TB or so of audio and video in several folders in two volumes on a single hard drive. When I stopped auto-update, the crashes stopped.
-
It's probably a specific file type. Maybe video.
-
I'll try an audio only import across multiple folders in the coming days.
