Hello,
I had a very bad surprise today, I added new folders and images in my Image file structure and did an import of the structure to add the new files and ?, after the import I noticed that ALL my rating of existing images were set to nothing. Other fields like event, album... were not touch only the rating.
Is this normal ? How to avoid that in the future ?

I using the latest version

No. It's not normal. You can restore a backup. MC makes them automatically.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your reply.
About Backup, I have only the one I created myself. Is there any option to get automatic backup daily ?
regarding my problem, I have a strange behavior with "re importing", I frequently had this issue of MC Tag been overrided by files tags during "Global import". I noticed an option "Update for External Changes" in the auto import. I uncheck it and I still have this can of issue. If I reimport either from MC Drive explorer, or from Windows explorer shell integration, after adding the new files it goes to an update of the library and override data. How to disable it ?

MC backup is automated. Search your machine for zip files.

I finally found some of the automatic backup, it seems theres one every 2 or 3 days.
Despite the backup, i tried again and i confirm that during import of image directory structure, MC resets Rating of already imported images.
How to avaid the "update for external changes" during import.
how to make import ONLY import new files and not update already imported ones ?

After double checkimg I've noticed that it has also erase Event, place... and other field but not album.
Why the update erase DB data when no information is in file ?
