Title: Avatar trouble
Post by: BradyBunchFan on December 11, 2017, 05:43:05 pm
Hi everyone. I just signed up for this forum and I'm having trouble with uploading an avatar. Whenever I choose the option of Small Thumbnail, I get this message instead.

The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:

The avatar you have selected is either too large or not an avatar.

It's an avatar, because I looked at it. Even if I choose the small thumbnail, it still says it's too large. Don't get this at all.

When you use your own Avatar, it should tell you what the limit is (in pixels).

It doesn’t.

I'd advise using an image that's 100x100 in size (you might need a photo editor to resize images, e.g. paint.net or GIMP come to mind), and to upload it to a photo sharing site (I use Imgur) and use the direct link to the image as the avatar URL.

I’ll have to look into that.

I just had a look, and you're right, the forum does not specify any size or dimension limit. It did used to though, and that limit was indeed, 100 x 100.

Maybe the avatar that I am trying to use is too big.

We could possibly help you with that if you could provide a link to it?

That would be great.
