Title: How to make movie image larger for TV/projector?
Post by: Rossputin on December 26, 2017, 09:20:21 am
Hello all,

When I watch a movie through MC, using HDMI output from media server into preamp/processor and then the video signal out to projector, a substantial part of the screen remains blank (sides and top, i.e. not limited in just one dimension due to image proportions).

Is there a way to change MC settings so that image it's sending thru HDMI video would create a large image when viewed through the home theater system?

Thanks!

Windows resolution should be set to that of your projector. Does Windows look OK?

So I have a regular 4:3 monitor connected to the server (through VGA output) and also an HDMI output into the home theater.

Windows looks fine on the monitor but I need the 16:9 output through the HDMI (even if it means that proportions are incorrect on VGA monitor)

Does that help?

I believe you can use Zones for this.  The wiki has a topic.
