Title: music stops playing with MC23 and Windows 10
Post by: Huck on December 31, 2017, 01:44:42 pm
MC23..playing ripped c.d's yesterday and today and everything stops dead mid song while playing.Windows 10...why? ? Thanks,Huck
When I do a reboot, everything is good for a while and it does it again?..when I click on the next song,I get this hourglass figure come up that won't go away...I have to Control,Alt,Delete and close the program and start again...started doing this yesterday for the first time, now it seems more regular...no other program is running?!
*Started listening this morning to Queensryche and I got through 10 songs and on the last song, everything stopped again,so I clicked on the next rip ,Steely Dan and I got this "Buffering..." come up under the title?!
This is getting very annoying!
Can someone help? Thanks,Huck

Hi; Still having problems with the music from my rips randomly stopping, even after:
-backing up library
-uninstalling MC
-Rebooting
-reinstall latest MC version(23.0.91)
-restored my library.
I am using Windows 10.
I need help!.Thanks,Huck

More details needed.

What is your playback setup?

When you say that you're playing your rips, what do you mean exactly?  Are you playing FLAC files from your hard disk, for example?  In that case, there is no need to refer to them as "rips".

Are you using MC in client/server mode?  Or just playing in the player itself.

How do you start playback?

I will try to answer your questions, but limited knowledge here:
Playback set-up: Windows 10 desktop>Audioengine D1 DAC via usb> headphones.
I only play c.d's that I have ripped here,so no other computer involved....no phones, etc, just playing back on this computer.(I guess they are called FLAC files..not sure.
:Just playing in the player:
Not sure on client or server??
I start Playback form the "welcome"page and click on 'Audio' at top left and pick from my 60 or so files and click'Play'.
Sorry...not much help!Huck

How is Audio set in MC?  WASAPI, ASIO, DirectSound?

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Audio_Setup

Hover your mouse over a track and note the extension of the file name.
