Title: 16 bit & 24 bit
Post by: sosnablues on January 07, 2018, 12:26:55 pm
I tried to stream my music from JRiver as a media server to my NDS naim streamer, but i felt disappointing the way it works, i transcode my music to wav for better sound, but i cannot have both format together, i had to choose between 16 bit or 24 bit, my collection music includes 16/44 and 24 HD/24.44,96,192....is there a way to get those formats in one package, instead to choose between them? any help thank you guys

If you're using DLNA, you can set the conversion to none in MC settings on the server.

If you're streaming via DLNA then go to Tools>Options>Media Network and you will see an option to "Add or configure DLNA Servers"

If you're directly connected via USB then its Tools>Options>Audio and under settings in the right hand window go to "DSP and Output format"

Try not using any transcoding and the original bit rate will be preserved. Its arguable if there is any benefit in transcoding to .wav if the original format is compressed as say .flac

But that's another debateable subject!

That`s i know, but i need to transcode to wav, my music files are in Different formats, and the best sound is transcoding to wav, if i am going not to use transcoding what i did first, i will not be able to play APE files

IF you are only using JRiver to be the DLNA server then everything else is down to the NAIM app for playback.

You need to ask questions on the NAIM forums about how to set that up.

Robt,  The screen capture you posted caught my attention, it looks like a JRiver MC view that I have not seen.
Am I missing something ? How did you display that view ?
Seems like it would be great view for a low powered Id or IdPi...

Its just part of a Standard View

Here's the full screen.

I like David Gilmour!
