Hi,
since I just recently upgraded to MC 23 (64-bit 23.0.94 version) there is an issue when performing 'Remove tags from files' (I want to remove embedded images).
For almost every album I get the error 'Failed to remove tags from files'. This problem never occurred with MC 22.
However, both to update tags from library and update library from tags is working fine.
What could be the issue here?
Thanks!

Is it just me who can't remove tags in MC 23?

It seems to be working fine for me on APE files. I'm doing right-click > Library Tools > Remove Tags.
Is that what you're doing? Can you try other types or locations of files?

Matt,
Does this clear all tags - as in - leaves ALL metadata in a completely empty state?
Or is it selective in what it removes?

It completely removes any tags from the files.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing!
After more testing I just found out that the remove tags problem only occurs with WMA Lossless and WV files. All FLAC, M4A, MP3, WAV files seem to work fine though.
But as I said, I never had problems removing any file type tags in MC 22.
Thanks!

I just noticed that I can't even play the wma files in Windows Media Player (Win 10). Maybe this is a clue to the problem...?
However, I can convert the wma files to flac in MC and subsequently perform a Remove Tags followed by an Update Tags from library. Then I get rid of the file image tag...
A solution good enough for now! :)
Thanks!
