Title: Can I transfer metadata when migrating from MC14 to MC23?
Post by: CopenhagenLove on January 14, 2018, 04:31:52 am
This week, I have upgraded from an old Win7 laptop with MC14 to a new Win10 laptop. I have copied all my music files to the new Win10 machine, and I have bought and installed MC23 (64 bit).

After setting my new music file folder as the library location with auto import …:
•   My uncompressed WMA files (from ripped CDs) show perfectly – complete with metadata and my personal ratings.
•   My mp3 files show just as well.
•   My m4a files (bought from iTunes) have lost their ratings and lost all my adjustments to the original iTunes metadata.
•   My WAV files have lost everything. They show nothing but their file names.

Can any of you kind people here in this forum please tell me if there is a way for me to transfer the missing metadata and ratings from MC14 to MC23? (I seem to recall that sometime around the MC18 update important changes were made to how metadata was stored in the library and to how they would be exported in case of an upgrade.)

Thank you for all help!
