I don't often use MC on Linux for video but when I do, I tend to have to post about what went wrong :'(
Today's problem was that video playback was extremely slow (varying between totally frozen and a few fps) while audio was non existent. It's a client of a windows server set to play at mpeg2 1080p auto fps. Behaviour was consistent across (sd quality) mkv and BDs. I could only get playback to succeed by changing video options to convert to 480p. System has a nvidia GTX 950 in it.
Same files played ok at 1080p in panel (chrome).
This suggests the difference is in how MC linux handles video (rendering) vs how chrome does it or alternatively that panel plays the file in a different way to the MC client.
Any suggestions on how to debug/fix?
