I love the new look. MC is the best!
However...... I have a concern: :o
I'm still having most of my video mpg files showing up as audio "Media type".
I have over 900 mpg files and growing by the day. I'm hoping and praying that I'm not going have to re-type all my fields when a "fix" version of MC finally switches these files over to video.
Recent versions of MC seem to have corrected this bug for any new imported mpg files, however from time to time few will kick in as audio. I can't figure out why and it's becoming messy. Sometime just moving an "audio" Mpg file to a new folder converts it to video. At first I was glad and thought I figured out a way to convert all my files by moving them to new temp folders. This was short lived when I realized I lost my field data from the audio file..... and that is concerning me.
Can MC have a field option for us to change Media type from audio to video? And if so, can it please be soon?? ::)

I don't know what that could be. Try deleting the file from the library and reimporting.
Is MC asking you to install WM?

Nope, I'm running WM9. I'll try the deleting and reimporting. I tried that several version back and it did not work. I'll try it again.
Thanks!

Well...... It's good and bad news. :-/
I cleared library, (delete files) and imported them again. All files are now correct and show up as video media type.
The bad news is I've lost all my field data. I had to restore to get things back to audio and retain my history and field data.

I tried to copy a couple of files using the "Library Tools" - move\copy disk files.
This works in converting the media type, however the new files have no tags. Is this not a bug?

I used to have this problem a lot every time I deleted video's from the library.
In the end I just used: rename files from properties to save all the property info into the filename so that no matter what I could get it back each time.
U might want to just do that.
And as for what you report - it sounds like a bug so report it in the bug thread.

The only problem with doing that is my 900 music videos are rated and use other custom fields which will be lost.

No - U could include all this in the new file names:
Artist - Album - Rating - Series etc.mpg :)
It'd give long file names I know but if u only ever access them from inside MC it makes no difference.

OMG - That's what I will do. I don't understand how the rating will work though, wouldn't that make it permanent? But even without "rating" in the name it's still a lot better the redoing everything.
Thanks a lot!!!
It's still a bug that should get fix. However, this will help me from redoing tags over and over again.
