I just logged into my MC server, and noticed that it was using almost all of the 16 GB of memory. While investigating, it appeared that MC was using a ton of memory, so I closed the GUI (I have Media Server running), and the high memory usage dropped immediately. I have attached a screen shot of Task Manager showing the massive drop. This particular PC is running an Intel i7 4790k (not overclocked), with a Nvidia GTX1050. Windows 7.
Also, I re-opened the GUI before taking that screen shot, and memory usage stayed down, so it appears to raise over time.

Are you using a visualization?
-
No, it’s sole purpose is to record tv, and serve video to clients. It’s in a closet and doesn’t get used other than as a server. In other words, no tv is connected to it.
-
Any unusual plugins, etc.?
-
No, no plugins at all. I typically leave the GUI open, but will close it for now.

Specifically, which version of MC is the server running? There was a recent fix for a potential memory issue in 64bit versions.
23.0.93 (1/5/2018)
6. Fixed: A possible memory issue in the 64-bit builds.

I have seen some high memory usage on my HTPC MC Server, but not for some time.

The server is on .91 (x64). I am happy to upgrade it to the latest if someone confirms that what I am seeing is consistent with the release information.

It would be easier if you just updated to MC23.0.94. It isn't such a big jump, and you can review the changes in the Release Note here: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Release_Notes_MC23
JRiver almost never document what issue these fixes have addressed unless there has been a specific thread working through the issue, and often not even then. They code instead of document.
Maybe a search will find a thread for it. I couldn't, specifically.
