Title: Menu Popping up
Post by: greyscale on February 12, 2018, 02:30:17 pm
Have updated to VER23 on a Macbook Pro. When Listening to music files I have (with no hands on Macbook)
menus popup at random. Just trying to find out why ?

Have 2, first is at startup. Perhaps left open when MC was closed. The second, MC menu pop up, HANDS FREE. I'm not touching my Macbook Pro.

I have the same Problem.

It occurs every time when the MC-window gets focus.
If you CMD-Tab to another window, then CMD-Tab back to MC, this menu appears.
The position of the menu depends on the mouse-cursor position.
ESC closes the menu.

To end this behavior i have to restart my Macbook Pro and start MC again.
Then it is ok for a while until the menu appears again.

I haven't been able to reproduce this yet.  Is there some sequence of steps I could follow that might make it happen?  I've tried quitting while a menu was open and music was playing.  I'll keep it playing music for a while and then try some more things.  I'm using build 23.0.103 on High Sierra.

John, I'm using a Macbook Pro (2010) high Sierra ver 10.13.3. Macbook has 8g memory. Happens by itself randomly. Using the same MC ver. as you. Hope this helps. Thanks.

MC 23.0.103
MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3

I can echo the same things Fred1 said.

I can replicate this every time using CMD+tab.  I can also say that this did not happen "before."  I don't recall what I upgraded from recently, but I know in prior versions this didn't happen.  To me it is always the View menu that shows up.  And it shows up relative to where my mouse is.  If I have my mouse on the far right side of the screen in Firefox, then I CMD+tab to MC, the View menu shows near the clock/ batter/ wifi area.  I hit esc, and it goes away.  If I go back to Firefox and move my mouse to the left, then CMD+tab, the View menu shows relative to the mouse.

A simple esc makes it go away, but this is certainly new behavior that I never noticed before.

Actually, it's not just CMD+tab, it's any time MC seems to gain focus.  If I use Mission Control and pick MC, the View menu pops up.  If I add a desktop and put MC in a separate desktop and switch between those (switching between full screen apps), the View menu pops up.

I also can't reproduce. Neither with mission control, nor with CMD+Tab.
I'm on a Macbook 10.13.3. and MC 23.0.103.
Did anybody of you experiencing this try to fix permissions in the disk utility and rebooting?

Yeah, I can't reproduce this either. Very odd indeed.

Mine occurs primarily when opening MC 23.  Menu boxes will just dropped down, two or three in rapid succession.  Once I have started using MC 23 with playback or browsing through files it seems to disappear but I definitely wish this annoyance could be addressed.  Oh and it does happen if I have minimized the screen and then reopen it.
