Title: 'Play local files if one that matches Library Server is found'
Post by: rsg on February 19, 2018, 05:54:25 pm
What does this mean actually: 'Play local files if one that matches Library Server is found'? It is found in Tools / Options / Media Network / Client Options. Taken literally, I can see what it means, but is this true? Does MC, when networked, play the local files (if they exist) from the client PC's drive rather than from the server's drive?

The file paths have to match exactly. I have a share mapped from the server to the htpc that replicates the file paths on the server, and the setting works exactly like it says it will. This does mean sharing the root of the drive, but it's just a huge storage drive with nothing but media files residing on it, so don't see any issues there.
