Title: Bad Library - MC22 MC23 Crashes on execution
Post by: Muzik_Man on February 24, 2018, 11:14:15 am
Having issues with a new library in MC22 and MC23.  When starting MC it hangs (if you wait it never returns) or you can cancel.  Cannot get MC to load with a viable DB so cannot use it.  Need HELP!

Could be antivirus.  Uninstall the antivirus, just to test.

If not antivirus or firewall related, have you already rebooted the PC to see if the problem clears up? Twice?
Did you recently update from MC22 to MC23?
What is the history of the problem? When did it start? What did you do just before that?

So loading the default library causes a problem. Do you have more than one library set up for MC? Say a local library that you could start instead?

If so try the Windows command;

mc23.exe /library <library name>

If you don't have another library, you could try forcing MC to start in read-only mode using the command;

mc23.exe /LibraryReadOnly

Once MC is running in read-only mode you may be able to successfully restore a backup with settings that work. MC will restart after the restore, so the backup will need to be good or you will have the same problem.

If those don't work, options get desperate!
