Title: 4K blu ray playback error opening file

When I try to open ripped Ultra HD blurays, I get " Something went wrong with playback Details: Failed to open or parse flies (hr=0x80004005). I do not have a GPU with HDMI 2.0. Could this be sole issue? I only post the question because after the error, I downloaded another player VLC which was able to open and play on a second PC that does not have a 4k monitor. Basically I'm just asking is this just a GPU issue with the 4k tv? JRiver gives the same error message on both PCs, even the one where VLC opens the files but can't seem to handle HDR playback. Any advice on what path to take to obtain playback of my 4k rips is appreciated.

Try ripping the disc with MakeMKV: http://www.makemkv.com/
