Title: simple question!
Post by: AJ on June 17, 2003, 10:52:11 am
hi everyone!

I have a very simple question that you should be able to answer for me.

When tagging MP3 in MC9 you have a whole host of different information you can add.  If I give all my MP3 a rating 1-5 it is saved in MC.  If I back this MP3 up onto a DVD is the rating saved in the file?  I notice that is does not appear in the properties of the file but is it hidden somewhere?  If I was to load the MP3 back to my PC or another one would the ratings remain on the files?

maybe this IS a stupid question? Please help me!!

Many Thanks

AJ  ;)

As long as you have the "save in tag when possible" set in the options|Tree and View Settings|rating|edit checked, then yes they will be saved in your tags for future or another PC use in MC.

If you go to the properties of a file from within MC and then go to the format tab, you will see a summary of all the tag information.
If your rating info is not listed here, then it is not in the tag and is only part of the library's own records.

At least that's how I understand it!
