I don't know if this is related, but I have noticed that the last couple of builds are a lot more prone to skip frames, not to mention the initial start playback lag (2-5 seconds) which has already been reported.
I have not made any changes to my skip settings (you know, where you can increase the buffer size), but now it will choke whenever I do something CPU intensive elsewhere. (IMPORTANT: I have never had a skipping problem before.)
