Title: Recording a stream - a simple question, I hope!
Post by: pluto on March 09, 2018, 07:10:21 am
I am playing a live radio stream (whose URL exists under ‘Playlists’) and listening to it.

What is the simplest way of dealing with a sudden urge to record what I am hearing – the equivalent of simply pressing the record button like one would have done in the days of yore?

Evidently not such a simple question  :o

I have a solution that appears to do the job. This free VST plugin…

…works as near to a ‘one touch’ recorder as we're likely to get. It's stable and works as expected.

One area that might be a Media Center bug – despite being set to “process independently of internal volume”, mute or minimum on the volume slider causes this plugin to stop receiving signal. I would have thought that “process independently of internal volume” implied that the mute arrangements were bypassed as well as the internal volume mechanism.
