Title: First time Newb MC23 Install: No Sound (W7 64BIT)
Post by: Eliot Mess on March 09, 2018, 12:20:51 pm
Hey I searched and searched ... now have to ask: The computer speakers and Realtek Hi Def Audio work fine. Right now.  But no playback sound with JRiver..yet.

The adjustable features are impressive ... but no twiddle or tweak makes the visibly playing track audible. And I already re-started after installing.

Seems to me the Program is directing the signal elsewhere than the RealTek HDA. (have selected Direct to start with, not WASAPI)

(a) What's the secret?
(b) The troubleshooting page is not structured from the User's perceived problem?

Have you been here?
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Audio_Setup

Do you get sound from Windows > Control Panel > Sounds?  What device?

Hey Jim!

Bloody Hell, just opened the program again and playback sound is there. On all the options, and on Direct and WASAPI.

I like logic, but I'll take this outcome.

It sounds very nice.
