Title: How to setup external encoder in JRiver for AAC and ALAC?
Post by: k.e. on March 26, 2018, 12:06:14 pm
Hi, I want to convert some of my HD files to AAC (TrueVBR q110) and some to ALAC (redbook) to sync them with my portable devices. So far I manually use XLD but that is not only bothersome, but it also does not support DSD, which I first have to convert somehow using JRiver anyway.

Using ALAC, JRiver only says "the current encoder is not configurable" and AAC isn't available at all. How do I set JRiver up to use either latest QuickTime version from an external source on Mac?

It's "not configurable" because there are no options to be set for the ALAC encoder.
I can't help with the AAC encoding on a Mac, sorry.
